Kevyn Aucoin the author of ''Face Forward' a book that has been on my Amazon wish list for some time had a pretty short lived life. Passing away in 2002 at only 40 Kevyn had had a impressive start to his career after building up a portfolio Vogue discovered him. Hitting the big time as a MUA he worked on the big names sculpting them for magazine shoots and working back stage at couture shows.

Kevyn was a success working on the rich and famous such as Cher and Janet Jackson (above image) but sadly in 2002 passed alway this was only a year after he had successfully launched his Kevyn Aucoin beauty brand. The tragic story of such a talent though lived on and succeeded by all us makeup artists and future makeup artists that have learnt or been inspired by his beautiful workings.

Just look at the image above. The way he's looking at her holding her face focused dedicated to his practice; the playfulness of his mouth like he was simply talking to her telling her she was ready for whatever excitement was planned for that shoot. The dedication on her face towards her; she was the lucky one even being the subject the model of his focus. Both young and full of life.
